Our story

The story behind the little things.

Vidakind began with a simple idea: that growing older shouldn’t mean giving up the things that make life enjoyable.

Our story

Founded on warmth, and a lifetime of making people feel lovely.

Vidakind was founded by Karina, who brings 30 years of professional hairdressing experience and previously ran her own private babysitting business. She loves cooking, helping people, creating beautiful experiences and making others feel valued.

Vidakind was inspired by a simple belief: growing older shouldn’t mean giving up the things that make life enjoyable. It offers a more personal alternative to traditional, task-focused home assistance, with a focus on warmth, familiarity, independence, companionship and everyday happiness.

A visit from Vidakind is not a checklist. It is a cup of tea made properly, a lovely lunch, a walk along the water, hair done just so, and someone who notices when the peonies on the table need replacing. It is the little things, remembered.

We remember the little things.

Why choose Vidakind

  • Familiarity & trust

Consistent, respectful relationships with a companion who becomes a familiar, welcome face.

  • Independence & choice

Clients choose how they would like to spend their time. We simply make it easier and more enjoyable.

  • Thoughtful little touches

Remembering the details, from how you take your tea to your favourite flowers, that make someone feel special.

  • Premium personal service

Professional, reliable and genuinely attentive companionship, delivered with warmth and care.

The Vidakind experience

More than a visit. Something to look forward to.

Vidakind is different because we take the time to understand each person. Every visit is personalised. One week might be cooking and shopping; another might be a favourite café, a walk, choosing flowers or an afternoon with the family photographs. Companionship should never feel rushed, clinical or impersonal.

The Little Things Book

Every regular client can receive a beautiful personalised Vidakind book that stays in their home. It is a place to jot down the little things that make life lovely, and when we arrive we look through it together and plan the visit.

  • Favourite drinks, treats and flowers
  • Hobbies, interests and music
  • Places you would love to visit
  • Ideas and wishes for future visits
  • Special occasions to remember
  • Things you would like a hand with

The book is for the lovely things in life. It is never used for medical, financial or confidential information.

Complimentary welcome visit

Before we share a day, let’s share a cuppa.

We offer a complimentary introductory meeting of around 30 minutes. It is a chance to meet you, and your family if you wish, and simply get to know one another.

  • Talk about your interests, routines and preferences
  • Discuss the everyday assistance that would make life lovelier
  • Look at availability and the visits that suit you
  • See whether Vidakind feels like the right fit

There is no obligation to book. It is simply a cuppa and a conversation.
